Competition for a primary school in Rome, Italy

The task was to settle a primary school in a small park, in the outskirts of Rome.
Instead of an out of budget camouflage within the landscape, the school emerges as a simple volumes. It is characterized by a clear outer layout of classrooms and offices (spaced out by the  patios) and some exceptions (the cylindrical gathering spaces and the volume of the gym opposed to the void of the main courtyard). The inner common areas are flooded by natural light, through a thoughtful roof design.
